One of my favorite Firefox Add-ons was Copy Plain Text - it gives one the option to copy from a web page sans formatting… very useful when copying into an application (like Evernote or the Wordpress Visual Editor) which includes the formatting.
Unfortunately, the add-on hasn’t been updated for Firefox 3, so I’ve been living without it for a while - copying from webpage to NoteTab Pro then back into the target application. Ugly, time consuming, and annoying.
Today I finally got tired enough of it and found Extended Copy Menu.
Happiness Abounds!
Extended Copy Menu adds two new items to your context (right-click) menu - Copy as HTML and Copy as Plain Text - exactly what I needed (and what I’m sure many do as well.)

There’s even an Internet Explorer plugin available for those who want it.

Want to be part of making history?
Then join us for Download Day 2008. Make the web a better place for both yourself and the sites you visit, and help to keep it open and free.
If you use Internet Explorer - you’ll really be amazed at the speed that Firefox has to offer.
Believe me, I’m not anti-Microsoft, and while I love free software I know it’s not the end all and be all that some make it out to be. I use what works best. And of the browsers I’ve used, Firefox has consistently shown itself to be the fastest, most stable, and just plain most enjoyable.

Mark Joyner, the “godfather of Internet Marketing” and creator of Simpleology, is giving away his bestselling book The Irresistible Offer: How to Sell Your Product or Service in 3 Seconds or Less for a limited time.
This isn’t some preview or add-on bonus if you spend a bunch of money on something else. It’s the full ebook version of his bestseller. You will need to sign up for a Simpleology account… but that’s free too.
And please don’t confuse “free” with “not worth much”. Simpleology 101 is one of the most useful online courses I’ve ever taken… and it doesn’t cost a dime.
All of the information can be found by clicking here.

I just read this on Seth Godin’s blog:
“The web is nothing but a system, a bunch of (largely unwritten) rules regarding search, linking, promotion, etc. It’s fascinating to watch as some people work hard to work the system, and succeed time and time again, while others waste countless hours with one scheme after another designed to beat the system. They invent cloaking devices and seo scams and pyramid schemes and lightly disguised spam pages, constantly struggling to stay ahead (and to stay quiet). Sure, you can beat the system (any system) for a while, but it’s a constant struggle.” (Original Article)
Food for thought… are you working it, or trying to beat it?
I’ve done both. There have been honest appraisals of products and services I’ve found useful, and then those that were done simply for the cash. And I’ve learned time and time again - doing anything strictly for the money (trying to beat the system) is nowhere near as satisfying as spreading the word about something I love and getting paid for it (working the system).

A while back, my friend Aaron Potts let me know about Evernote, a high powered alternative to Google Notebook. I used it for a while, but never made the full switch… I was just too used to Google’s product, and didn’t really like the integration.
Well, that’s changed. Since I’ve started using Firefox 3, Google Notebook’s integration just hasn’t been as smooth. I understand that the third version of the Fox isn’t quite ready for prime time, but it was worth switching early because of the massive improvements in memory management and speed. So I thought I’d give Evernote another try.
The improvements that they’ve made are amazing. It is still in a closed beta, and there’s a message that it doesn’t yet support Firefox 3, but I’ve yet to experience any problems with it. The browser plugin doesn’t work yet, but that’s solved by using their Universal Clipper in it’s place.
If you’re interested in trying out Evernote, I’ve got 20 invites available. Just leave a comment on this post, and use a working email address. I’ll get the invite out to you ASAP.
